Has anyone had Fraxel laser surgery for skin discoloration and was it affective?

I have severe to moderate skin discoloration from years of sun damage. Makeup helps, but doesn’t cover it completely-so I don’t leave the house without it. I’ve heard that Fraxel lasers help. But I want to hear from people that have had it-does it work? Does it hurt? How fast is recovery? How fast do you see results?

A few months ago, I too was considering Fraxel laser for melasma (dark, hiper-pigmentation spots on the face that sun accelerates) on my face. I did a lot of research on it and in the process learned about Obagi NuDerm. It’s a skincare system that lightens sun spots within a matter of months. I have been using it for 2 1/2 months and all of the melasma is gone from my face-ALL of it. It costs about $500 and will last about 4-5 months. A lot cheaper than Fraxel and from what I’m hearing and reading, more effective than Fraxel. I would highly recomend you look into Obagi first.
