My eye sight for distance is not very good (to say the least), so i wear contact lenses most days. Could i still be a pilot if i was to get corrective eye laser surgery for my vision?
I’m applying for Naval OCS after I graduate from my university this year. I want to either be an aviator or go into their engineering program. The problem is that I don’t have perfect eye sight and I’m getting laser eye surgery after graduation. Besides that, I’m perfectly physically fit and academically capable (double-major in applied math and mechanical engineering w/ 3.8 gpa)…
Can anyone tell me step by step how laser eye surgery works?
My eye sight is getting worse every year and its to the point where im thinking that at some point in my life i might end up needing laser eye surgery just so i dont go blind when im 40! My problem is i hate it when things get near my eyes… you see i cant where contacts and its a pain to get drops in my eyes but im starting to think im going to have to get laser eye surgery… So what happens in laser eye surgery?
My mum has got really bad eye sight and she has to buy very expensive glasses but the lens broke is it worth to have laser eye surgrey
how mutch dose eye surgery cost and will they do it on an eye that has a istigmatism (sorry with spelling). dose it differ if the eye sight is really bad?

Eye laser surgeries are the most common surgeries in the western world and the satisfaction percentage of patients is very high. The huge demand made many clinics to promise a short eye laser surgery that will enable their patients to get rid of their eyeglasses.
But in many cases patients are not aware of the risks and that this simple surgery cant help every single patient, sometimes it can even end in blindness. The next story might emphasis some of these risks and problems:
R. is a 23 years old mom with 3 kids. She went with her little girl to an ordinary eye check at her optometrist. R used the opportunity to ask her doctor about an eye laser surgery, her Doctor immediately recommended the surgery and said that it was a 100% risk free operation.
The Doctor gave R a business card of an eye laser surgery clinic where he used to work. 2 days later R already had an appointment for the surgery. She was operated in one eye for $3,000 and in the first few days after the surgery she reported an improvement in eyesight but it didn’t last long and after a week or so she was already saying black dots and lost more of her eyesight in the operated eye. The surgeon told her that it was a natural reaction and kept claiming the same thing for over a year. In the end R found out that she shouldn’t have been operated because of the structure of her inner eye. She won a lawsuit against the clinic but that didn’t help her eye to get back to what it used to be.
So please make sure when choosing a clinic that the surgeon is a professional and ask him to go over all the risks with you. Most eye laser operations are a success but one can never be certain. There is no such thing as a 100% risk free operation and that is something you must always take in consideration.
In many cases it is good to visit more than one clinic, talk to the operating Doctor and ask for phone numbers or emails of clients that went through the same procedure and can recommend the clinic.
I was just curious, my eyes are really bad, i cant read a font at the size of 12 on the computer screen when i am 70 cm away from it. And would a person like me whos eye sight is that bad be suitable for eye surgery? By the way, iam 13 years old. :S
Hey. 5 years ago, i noticed i was having trouble reading the board in the classroom. Over the last few years, my eyes have got worse and worse, and while my glasses are fantastic, they were supposed to be temp and i now need to wear them all the time. Having them on and off is causing headaches, especially since i work at a comp desk, and i need to lean in really close to be able to even see the comp screen! For those that have had laser surgery (i have mild short sight, meaning reading is NO problem but street signs are near impossible) how much did it cost, is there only one session, how is your eye sight now…? ANY info, this will be a huge thing for me as i’ll need to save for it and it better be worth it!

2. If it is successful, will the eye sight stay good even if you abuse your eyes again like how you got the glasses in the first place? 
3. Anything else I need to know about it?
im in India right now and would like to take advantage of the cheap laser surgery to restore your eye sight and not have to wear glasses, are there any people out there that have had this proceedure, and if so are you happy with the results and if not why?
My brother is 24 years old, and he really wants to get laser surgery. It costs about 0 CAN per eye. However, I’ve been hearing that it doesn’t make sense since your eye sight at that age is still yet to worsen. Are there any links or experienced ppl that can give me advice to deter him from considering it? Thanks.
